Some wedding days leave a lasting impression, and Carter and Kyla’s wedding was one I’ll be thinking about for a long time.

From the moment I arrived, it was obvious how much thought and love had gone into every single detail. Their wedding colors were inspired by a summer sunset—soft shades of orange, pink, and yellow that brought so much warmth and joy to the entire day. Everywhere you looked, there was something beautiful to take in. Every detail felt intentional, and together they created a wedding that perfectly reflected who Carter and Kyla are.

One of my favorite things about photographing weddings is seeing how each couple makes their day uniquely theirs. No two weddings are ever the same, and that’s exactly what makes this job so special. Carter and Kyla created a day that wasn’t just beautiful—it felt genuine. They were simply celebrating the beginning of their marriage surrounded by the people who love them most.

Throughout the day, there were so many little moments that reminded me why I love being a wedding photographer. The smiles exchanged across the room. The excitement before seeing each other. Family members tearing up during the ceremony. Friends cheering louder than anyone during the reception. Those quiet, emotional moments often become the ones couples treasure most years later.

Of course, we also made time for portraits, and they were absolutely stunning. Between the dreamy sunset colors woven throughout the wedding and the excitement Carter and Kyla shared all day long, every photograph felt effortless. They laughed together, soaked in every moment, and genuinely enjoyed simply being together. Those are always my favorite couples to photograph.

I often think back to when I bought my very first camera because a friend offered to teach me how to use it. At the time, I never imagined I’d one day spend my weekends documenting stories like Carter and Kyla’s. Even now, I occasionally catch myself wondering if I’m doing enough or if I’m “professional enough.” Then I come home from a wedding like this, begin editing the gallery, and I’m reminded exactly why I chose this career.

Photography freezes moments that we’ll never get back. We never get to be this age again. Wedding days move incredibly fast, and before couples know it, the dress is packed away, the flowers have faded, and the decorations are gone. The photographs become one of the few things that continue to tell the story for decades to come.

To Carter and Kyla, thank you for trusting me with one of the biggest days of your lives. Thank you for welcoming me into your celebration, for being so kind, and for allowing me to witness the beginning of your next chapter together. It was truly an honor to capture your wedding day.
