If you’re newly engaged and trying to figure out where you’re going to get married, first of all—CONGRATULATIONS! 🤍
And second… I know how overwhelming the venue search can be.
There are so many things to think about. Do you want a barn? A mountain setting? Something modern? Something historic? Do you want everyone staying together for the weekend? Do you want an indoor space in case Southern Utah decides to give you four different seasons in one day? 😂
As a wedding photographer in Cedar City, I get to see a lot of beautiful wedding venues around Southern Utah, and I’ve learned that every venue has a completely different feel.
So I put together a list of some beautiful wedding venues near Cedar City to help you narrow things down.
And yes, I’m putting my favorite at number one.
1. The Barn at Cedar Meadows
Okay, I’m starting with The Barn at Cedar Meadows because this one is pretty special to me.
Located right here in Cedar City, The Barn at Cedar Meadows has that beautiful rustic-but-elegant feel that works so well for Southern Utah weddings. The property sits on 10 acres and includes a gorgeous barn, outdoor spaces, a pond, and views of the surrounding mountains and cliffs. The venue offers both indoor and outdoor ceremony options, making it a really versatile choice for couples.
And from a photographer’s perspective?
The photo opportunities are SO good.
There are so many different areas to use throughout the wedding day, which means your gallery doesn’t have to look like every photograph was taken in the exact same spot.
You can have your ceremony, family photos, bridal portraits, and reception photos all feel completely different while still having that beautiful Southern Utah backdrop.
I also love that it gives you the classic barn wedding feeling without having to drive hours away from Cedar City.
If you’re looking for a venue that feels romantic, warm, timeless, and very Southern Utah, this one is definitely worth touring.

2. Cedar Rose Estate
If you want to turn your wedding into an entire weekend experience, Cedar Rose Estate in Parowan is such a unique option.
Cedar Rose is a large private estate surrounded by mountain scenery, with accommodations for up to 120 guests and an event barn. It’s designed more like a destination wedding experience where your closest people can stay, celebrate, and spend the weekend together instead of everyone heading home immediately after the reception.
And honestly, I love the idea of that.
Imagine waking up with your favorite people, getting ready together, getting married, celebrating all night, and then waking up the next morning still surrounded by everyone you love.
Plus, you’re surrounded by Southern Utah scenery, so there are plenty of opportunities for beautiful portraits.

3. Heather Hill Farm & Gardens
If you’re looking for a venue with a garden-and-farm feel, Heather Hill Farm & Gardens in Enoch is another one to put on your list.
It’s just outside Cedar City, making it convenient for local couples while still giving you that beautiful open-country feeling.
The venue combines a barn with outdoor spaces and garden areas, making it a great option for couples who want both indoor and outdoor elements throughout their wedding day.
I especially love venues like this for couples who want their wedding to feel romantic and relaxed rather than overly formal.
And, of course, the outdoor spaces give us plenty of room for portraits.

4. The Venue Cedar City
Maybe you’re not a barn person.
And that’s okay!
The Venue Cedar City offers a completely different look. Located downtown inside the historic Cedar Theater, this venue combines the character of an older building with a more modern event space. The venue has more than 4,000 square feet and can be used for weddings and other events.
I think this would be especially fun for a couple who wants something a little different from the typical outdoor or barn wedding.
You could really make the space your own with florals, lighting, tablescapes, and your personal style.

5. The Lobby Events
If historic spaces are more your style, The Lobby Events in downtown Cedar City is another venue worth checking out.
The venue is located inside the restored historic Cedars Hotel building on Main Street, giving your wedding a completely different atmosphere than an outdoor or barn venue. It also has included tables and chairs, sound equipment, parking, and options for setup and teardown assistance.
I think this type of venue would be so much fun for a couple who wants something with personality.
Give me a historic building, beautiful florals, a gorgeous dress, and some good light, and I’m a happy photographer.

6. The Grand Ranch
Okay, this one is for the couples who want something a little more adventurous.
The Grand Ranch is a farm and ranch property near Cedar City and Kanarraville, with animals, outdoor spaces, and an overall experience that feels very different from a traditional wedding venue.
If your dream wedding involves a little more country, a little more adventure, and maybe some very enthusiastic four-legged wedding guests, this could be a fun one to look into.

And let’s be honest—if there are goats at your wedding, I am probably taking pictures of the goats.
7. Southern Utah University Mountain Center
If mountains are your thing, don’t overlook the Southern Utah University Mountain Center.
Located up Cedar Canyon, the Mountain Center has a beautiful forested mountain setting and is used for weddings, retreats, reunions, and other group events.
This would be such a beautiful choice for a couple who wants their wedding day to feel surrounded by nature.
Think trees, mountain air, cozy vibes, and photographs that feel completely different from a traditional ballroom wedding.
And bonus: you’re still close enough to Cedar City that your guests aren’t completely in the middle of nowhere.

It’s located outside Cedar City and offers outdoor event space with the natural landscape of the area surrounding it.
This type of setting is perfect for couples who don’t necessarily need a huge, elaborate venue.
Sometimes you just need beautiful scenery, your favorite people, and enough space to celebrate.
And Southern Utah definitely gives us the scenery.

So Which Cedar City Wedding Venue Is Right for You?
Honestly, there isn’t one venue that is perfect for everyone.
And that’s a good thing!
Your wedding should feel like you.
If you love rustic elegance, The Barn at Cedar Meadows might be your place.
If you want a destination-style weekend with your closest people, Cedar Rose Estate could be a great fit.
If you love gardens and a farm setting, check out Heather Hill.
If you’re drawn to historic architecture, The Lobby or The Venue Cedar City might be more your style.
And if you’re dreaming of mountains, a ranch, or something a little more adventurous, Southern Utah has plenty of those options too.
Before you book a venue, think about what you want your wedding day to actually feel like.
Do you want everyone together all weekend?
Do you want indoor and outdoor options?
Do you care about having lots of beautiful places for portraits?
Do you want your guests to have somewhere comfortable to hang out between the ceremony and reception?
And most importantly:
Can you picture yourself getting married there?
Because when you walk into the right venue, I think you’ll know.
And Then… Bring Me Along 📸
Once you’ve found your venue, don’t forget about one of the most important parts of your wedding day:
Your photographs.
Your flowers will eventually fade.
The cake will be eaten.
The decorations will come down.
The dress will be put away.
But your photographs will be what allow you to relive the day over and over again.
As a Southern Utah wedding photographer, I love finding all of the little places around a venue that make your wedding gallery feel unique. I’m constantly looking for beautiful light, little moments, fun portraits, and the things happening in between the big events.
Because yes, I want the beautiful bridal portraits.
But I also want the way your husband looks at you when you walk down the aisle.
The hug with your dad.
Your best friend crying during the ceremony.
Your grandma dancing at the reception.
The moment you both realize, “Wait… we’re actually married!”
Those are the photographs you’ll treasure.
So if you’re planning a wedding in Cedar City, Parowan, Enoch, St. George, Zion, or anywhere else in Southern Utah, I’d love to be the person behind the camera.

A Little About Lindsey 🤍
Hi, I’m Lindsey! I’m the photographer behind Lindsey Larsen Photography, based in Cedar City, Utah.
I’m a mom to two boys, a wife, and a photographer who genuinely loves getting to document the big moments and all the little ones in between.
I bought my first camera because a friend offered to teach me how to use it, never imagining that one little decision would eventually turn into a career I absolutely love.
Now I get to spend my weekends photographing weddings, and I honestly still can’t believe I get to call this my job.
When I’m not behind my camera, you’ll probably find me with my little family, chasing after my boys, exploring somewhere outdoors, or hanging out with our Siberian husky, Athena.
My goal on a wedding day isn’t just to take pretty pictures.
I want you to feel comfortable with me. I want you to have fun. I want you to be able to forget about the camera and actually enjoy your wedding day.
And when you get your gallery back, I want the photographs to bring you right back to how it all felt.
If you’re looking for a wedding photographer in Cedar City or anywhere in Southern Utah, I’d love to hear about your day. 🤍
